My logo, title or preview image isn't updating on my custom domain
If you've updated your project's Logo, Title, Description or Preview Image but your custom domain still shows the old version, it's a caching issue.
A copy of the old version is being held in one of three places: your browser, the app you shared the link in, or our servers.
- Check in a private window
- Open your link in a private or incognito window, or on your phone using mobile data.
- If the new version shows up there, the update worked, and it's only your browser holding the old copy. Clear your cache and you're done.
- If it looks wrong when you share the link
Apps save their own copy of your page the first time it's shared there, and can hold it for up to a day.
- Facebook, Messenger, WhatsApp: Start a new Facebook post, paste your link, wait for the preview to load. Then open the Sharing Debugger, paste your link, and click Debug → Scrape Again.
- LinkedIn: Paste your link into the Post Inspector.
- WhatsApp, Slack, iMessage: Close the app completely and reopen it.
- If your domain runs through Cloudflare or similar
- Some custom domain setups route traffic through a service that keeps its own copy of your site. If yours does, clear the cache there too.
- Search "[your provider name] purge cache" or ask an AI assistant, it's usually one button in their dashboard.
- Still showing the old version?
- Send us a message with your link and we'll clear it from our side. Takes a few minutes.
- Then re-check in a private window. Your normal browser may still need a cache clear to catch up.
