What is the daily API request limit?

Available on Solo and above.

Each API key can make 200 requests per day. The count resets every day at midnight UTC, not 24 hours after your first request. Anything you do in the dashboard doesn't count.

You'll find your key under the plan-name button (top right) → Manage Account → API Key.

What counts as a request

Every call made with your API key counts, not just uploads:

  • Creating, updating or deleting a project
  • Fetching your profile, for example to check your quota
  • Requesting or verifying a one-time code (OTP)

So a script that checks your profile before every update uses two requests per update, not one.

What happens when you reach the limit

Requests made with that key fail with the HTTP status 429 and the error RATE_LIMIT_EXCEEDED. They work again after midnight UTC.

Your projects stay live. Only requests made with your API key are paused.

You can still update projects from the dashboard while you wait.

How to stay under the limit

Most people never get close. Automations that run on a timer can reach it faster than you'd expect. For example, two projects updating every 15 minutes use about 190 requests a day. Add a profile check to each run and it's nearly 400.

If several scripts or tools use the same key, they share the same limit.

Here's how to cut down:

  • Only publish when something has changed. Compare your files with the last version instead of publishing on a timer.
  • Check your profile once a day, not on every run.
  • Add a short wait between retries, and a maximum number of attempts.
  • Publish several close-together changes in one update.
  • Use the dashboard for one-off changes.

Can I get a higher limit?

Higher limits are available on Pro Max. Reach out to support@tiiny.host and share your use case and roughly how many requests a day you need, and we'll review it.

Still getting a 429?

If you're not sure why you're hitting the limit, reach out to us the same way. Tell us how often your script runs and what it does on each run.
