How to generate your API key
Tiiny Host allows you to generate an API key to use directly with our API or with tools like Zapier, n8n and Make.
What can I do with the API?
With your API key, you can do these without opening the dashboard:
- Upload a file or ZIP to create a new project
- Update an existing project with new files
- Delete a project
- Check your projects and how much of your quota you've used
Full technical details are in the API Docs.
If you build sites with Claude, you can also connect Tiiny Host straight to it: see How to connect Tiiny Host to Claude with MCP.
Can I use a custom domain with the API?
The API can't add, buy or set up a custom domain. You do that from your dashboard first. Once a domain has been added and validated there, you can upload projects to it through the API.
Always add and validate the domain in your dashboard first. If you upload before that, the upload can look like it worked but your domain won't show the site.
How to generate your key
To generate your API key:
- Log in to your Tiiny Host account.
- Navigate to your Manage Account section.
- Click Generate in the API Key section.
If you generate a new key
Generating a key again replaces the old one straight away. Anything still using the old key (Zapier, n8n, Make or your own scripts) stops working until you paste in the new key. We ask you to confirm before replacing it.
If an upload is refused
What you see | What it means |
|---|---|
"You have reached your project upload limit of 5 projects. Please upgrade to the Pro plan for more uploads" | You've reached the Solo limit of 5 projects through the API. Updating an existing project doesn't count. Upgrade to Pro for more |
"You've reached your links limit, please upgrade" | Your account's storage allowance is used up. Delete projects you don't need or upgrade. |
| You've used today's 200 requests. It resets at midnight UTC. |
Request limits
API requests have a daily limit. See What is the daily API request limit? for how it works and when it resets.
