Connecting a Domain You Already Own

If you've already bought a domain from a provider like GoDaddy, Namecheap, Cloudflare, or anywhere else, you can connect it to your Tiiny Host project.
There are two ways to do this — Automatic or Manual — and which one you get offered depends on your domain provider. This guide covers both.

Custom domains are available on the Solo plan and above, with up to 5 domains per account.

Before you start

• Your Tiiny Host account, logged in
• The domain name you want to connect
• Access to log in to your domain provider (if you're offered the Manual path)

Step 1 — Add your domain in Tiiny Host

1. Go to tiiny.host/manage and log in.
2. Scroll to the Custom Domain section and click Add new.
3. Enter your domain name.
4. • If you want to host under a subdomain (e.g. blog.yourdomain.com) instead of the main domain, tick the subdomain checkbox below the domain input.
4. Click Next.
5. You'll be asked if you own the domain — click Yes.

Step 2 — Choose your path

Depending on your domain provider, you'll now either be offered a choice between Automatic and Manual connection, or taken straight to the Manual path (some providers aren't supported for automatic connection).

• Taken straight to a page showing DNS records? → Skip to Path B: Manual below.

Path A — Automatic Connection

• Step 3A. Tiiny Host will detect your provider and add the required DNS records for you. This usually takes a few moments.
• • If the screen gets stuck loading and doesn't move forward: click the Add manually instead button. This switches you to Path B below.
• Step 4A. Once complete, your domain will show as connected. Continue to Validating your domain below.

Path B — Manual Connection

• Step 3B. You'll be shown the DNS records you need to add. Keep this page open; you'll need to copy these values.
• Step 4B. Open a new tab and log in to your domain provider's website. Find the DNS management or DNS records section.
• Step 5B. Add each record shown in Tiiny Host to your provider's DNS settings, matching the Type, Name/Host, and Value/Target fields exactly.
• • This step looks different on every provider, and we can't walk through all of them here. If you get stuck on this step specifically, try searching "[your provider name] add DNS record" or asking an AI assistant like ChatGPT — most providers have very similar-looking screens once you find the right menu.
• Step 6B. Once you've added the records, go back to your Tiiny Host tab, tick I have added the above DNS records, and click Next.

Validating your domain

DNS changes aren't instant, they need to propagate across the internet before they'll work. This typically takes around 15 minutes, but can occasionally take up to 24 hours depending on your provider. You can check progress at dnschecker.org — enter your domain and confirm the records you added are showing up.

Once propagation looks complete, go back to your Tiiny Host dashboard and click Validate next to your domain.
If it doesn't validate right away, wait a little longer and try again, as this is almost always a timing issue.

Your domain is ready to use once it shows as validated. You won't need to add any further DNS records — from here, every project you publish to this domain is just an upload.
