# Why is there code in my project I didn't add?

Those two scripts are ours. We add them automatically when your project is published.

### What each one does

| Script | What it's for |
| `plausible.js` | Tracks visits to your site. On the free plan this is how we keep track of usage against your plan limits. On paid plans it powers your analytics dashboard. |
| `ad-script.js` | Displays the small "shared with tiiny.host" bar at the bottom of your site. |

Neither script collects personal data from your visitors, and neither will slow your site down noticeably.

### What happens if I upgrade?

* **The branding bar goes.** `ad-script.js` is removed on paid plans.
* **The analytics script stays.** `plausible.js` is what your analytics dashboard runs on.

### Can I remove them myself?

No. Both scripts are added when your project is published, so deleting them from your files won't work, they'll be added again next time you upload.
