# How to change your account email address

Available on **paid plans**.

Your email address is how your account is identified, so changing it is a security-sensitive request. We always confirm you're the account owner first.

### If you still have access to your current email

This is the quick path:

1. Email [**__support@tiiny.host__**](mailto:support@tiiny.host) from your **current registered address**.
2. State both your current email address and the new one you'd like to use.
3. We'll verify and make the change, then send confirmation to the new address.

Sending from the registered address is what proves ownership, so the request has to come from there. Forwarded messages don't work.

### If you've lost access to your current email

We can look at verifying you another way, using the payment details on the account. Fill in our [__payment identification form__](https://tally.so/r/w7aGQR) with as much information as you can. 

We'll check this against our billing records.  If the details line up with the account, we'll make the change and confirm to your new address.

We can't always verify this way. If the payment details don't match the account we won't be able to proceed, and we'll come back to you to explain why.

### On the free plan

Email changes aren't available on free accounts. The simplest route is to sign up with the address you want and re-upload your project.

### Why we do it this way

Your email address is your account. If we changed it on request without checking, anyone who knew your address could take the account off you.
