# Databases and Tiiny Host

You can't host a database with us. Tiiny Host serves static files, so there's nothing running that could store data. You can connect your project to an external database instead.

### How that works

Your project makes API calls out to a database hosted elsewhere — MongoDB, Supabase, Firebase or similar. Your code does the fetching and storing; we just serve the files.

1. Add your API or fetch requests to your code before uploading.
2. Upload your project to Tiiny Host.
3. Test that reading and writing works as expected.

Your project will talk to your external database as normal.
